Zaro is a simple and caring app that helps you stay connected with the people who matter most by reminding you to check in with loved ones.

Zaro processes no personal data under Article 6 of the GDPR. All app functions operate locally on the user’s device.

2.1 Local Data Only

Zaro operates on a privacy-first principle:

• No Account Required: You do not need to create an account or provide any personal information to use Zaro.
• Local Storage: All information you enter in the app (such as names of loved ones and check-in records) is stored exclusively on your device.
• No Server Transmission: We do not transmit, upload, or store any of your personal data on remote servers.
• No Cloud Backup: In this version, Zaro does not use cloud backup services.

2.2 Data We Do NOT Collect

We explicitly do NOT collect:

• Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
• Contact lists or phone book data
• Location data or GPS coordinates
• Device identifiers (IMEI, MAC address, etc.)
• Usage analytics or behavioral tracking data
• Advertising identifiers
• Any other personal or sensitive information

3. Analytics and Tracking

Zaro does not use any analytics services, tracking pixels, or third-party data collection tools. We do not track:

• How you use the app
• How often you open the app
• Which features you use
• Any behavioral or usage patterns

4. Third-Party Services

In this current version (v1.0), Zaro does not integrate with any third-party services, including:

5. Permissions

5.1 Current Permissions

Zaro requests minimal permissions:

• Notifications (Optional): If enabled in future versions, to send gentle reminders to check in with loved ones. You can disable this in your device settings at any time.

5.2 No Intrusive Permissions

Zaro does NOT request access to:

• Camera or photos
• Microphone
• Contacts or calendar
• Location services
• Phone calls or SMS

6. Data Security

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

• Device Security: Your data is protected by your device's built-in security features (passcode, biometric authentication, etc.).
• No Network Risks: Because we don't transmit data, there's no risk of interception during transmission.
• User Control: You have complete control over your data and can delete it at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing app data in your device settings.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

• Retention: Data is retained on your device for as long as the app is installed.
• Deletion: You can delete all data by:
  • Uninstalling the Zaro app
  • Clearing app data through your device's app settings
• No Server-Side Data: Since we don't store data on servers, there is no server-side data to delete.

8. Children's Privacy

Zaro is suitable for users of all ages. However, because we do not collect any personal information, we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction) in accordance with COPPA and GDPR-K regulations.

Parents and guardians can safely allow children to use Zaro, knowing that no personal data is collected or transmitted.

9. Your Rights (GDPR & Privacy Laws)

Even though we don't collect personal data, under GDPR and other privacy laws, you have rights including:

• Right to Access: You can access all your data directly within the app.
• Right to Deletion: You can delete your data by uninstalling the app or clearing app data.
• Right to Portability: All data is stored locally and can be backed up using your device's native backup features.
• Right to Object: Since we don't process your data, there's nothing to object to.
